The most comprehensive language testing site on the web is the Resources in Language Testing site maintained by Glenn Fulcher , now at the University of Leicester. This site has links to a huge number of other test related sites, a huge list of testing articles and a searchable database for any particular aspect of testing that you might be interested in .  Hours of fun

The Common European Framework for Languages offers very detailed band scales for the assessment of all aspects of languages at all levels from Basic to Proficient.  A great resource for language testers and syllabus designers.

Teaching English with Technology  is now in its third year. A mixture of articles, lesson plans for online teaching, technical advice and software reviews.  Worth a look at current and past issues if you have an interest in CALL, or any other aspects of the relationship between language education and technology.

Reading in a Foreign Language is a twice yearly online journal published by the University of Hawaii. Editions since October 2002 are on line. Types of articles include, for example in the latest edition (April 2004)  Reading attitudes in L1 and L2, and their influence on L2 extensive reading.

Let's Learn English is a new site set up by a number of ex-teachers from the British Council, International House and by some Cambridge examiners.  It claims to be an online self access centre offering 'quality input' and a wide variety of test items from a range of different tests ( eg: PET, FCE, CAE, IELTS, TOEFL) with feedback on student answers.  There is free content as well as subscription based material and you can sign up free for a weekly newsletter.
